ICP DAS to bring redundant traffic signal controller to APTA 2026

The Taiwanese automation supplier said it will run a live demonstration of its iTLC-9000 traffic signal control system and an AI-based traffic monitoring setup at its Chicago booth.

ICP DAS to bring redundant traffic signal controller to APTA 2026

ICP DAS said it will present its intelligent transportation technologies at APTA 2026 TRANSform & EXPO, which runs October 4–7 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. Visitors are invited to Booth 4625, where the company said it will stage a live demonstration of the iTLC-9000 Series Redundant Multifunctional Traffic Signal Control System, which it says is intended to improve traffic safety, operational reliability and intersection management.

The demonstration will use a simulated intersection in which the iTLC-9000 controls two sets of actual traffic signals, the company said. The system has a modular, redundant architecture with hot-swappable modules for maintenance, and supports up to 16 traffic signal phases and a 32-way complex intersection. The company also listed rapid switchover between primary and backup controllers, real-time notifications of abnormal status, proactive maintenance functions, cybersecurity protection for networked traffic infrastructure, and a color touchscreen.

Separately, ICP DAS said it will demonstrate an AI-powered traffic solution that uses NVIDIA GPU technology. By analyzing live traffic video, the company said, the system can identify traffic flow conditions, detect approaching emergency vehicles, and detect traffic violations while recognizing the associated license plates. That lets the iTLC-9000 optimize signal timing, improve traffic efficiency and support faster operational response, according to the company.

ICP DAS said it will also show other intelligent transportation products at the booth: the WISE-5231 Edge Computing Controller, the PET-7016M Ethernet Remote I/O Module, the MDC-714 Modbus Data Concentrator, the DL-1038-WF Environmental Monitoring Module, the ALM-Horn-WF-BR Piezoelectric Alarm Horn, and the iTLC-LC-NOD-01 and iTLC-LC-NOD-02 Light Control Unit Modules. The company, founded in 1993 and headquartered in Taiwan, supplies hardware and software for industrial automation and the industrial internet of things.
