Emdoor Information marks 18 years of rugged computing

Emdoor Information, which makes rugged tablets, laptops and handheld terminals, has marked 18 years in rugged computing, the company said. Founded in 2008 and listed on China's A-share main board since 2023, it supplies industrial customers across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, in sectors that include public utilities, intelligent manufacturing, warehouse management, transportation and energy.

The company reported 2025 revenue of RMB 4.583 billion, or about USD 640 million, up 44.15 percent from the previous year. It said R&D staff account for more than 40 percent of its workforce, and that cumulative R&D investment over the past five years reached RMB 964 million, a compound annual growth rate of 15.9 percent.

Emdoor owns its Emdoor Building, which holds corporate offices and a 20,000-square-metre manufacturing base. The base has four production floors, 15 integrated assembly and testing lines and an annual capacity of 7.8 million units, and holds ISO five-system certification. It uses automation including AI-powered visual inspection and manufacturing execution systems for process traceability. A reliability testing base in the same building has labs for waterproofing, drop testing, environmental simulation and mechanical durability, and the company said its rugged tablets, laptops and handheld terminals are validated against IP ratings and MIL-STD-810 standards.

Supply rests on long-term partnerships with Intel, Qualcomm and Rockchip, which the company said provide early access to platform-level technical resources and priority supply allocation. Component procurement is centralised through a group supply chain management centre, and the company holds bulk inventory and dynamic safety stock of critical materials such as memory and storage, alongside finished-goods inventory valued at RMB 120 million. Standard configurations are delivered in one to three days and customised units in seven to thirty days.

Its rugged computing products include tablets, laptops, handhelds, vehicle mounted computers and industrial panel PCs from 4 to 21.5 inches, built on Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, MediaTek and Rockchip platforms and running Windows, Android or Linux, with nearly 100 models in active production. After-sales support includes repair services in Hong Kong, a technical support hotline, official social media, email and an online support system, the release said.
