DoGo Power has released two smart grid-forming energy storage solutions, one for large and medium-sized commercial and industrial customers and one for utility-scale projects, at a launch event in Shanghai where it also set out a strategy it describes as "Scenario-oriented + Grid-Forming + AI." Robin Zhu, the company's founder and CEO, said the energy storage industry had reached a watershed after a period of rapid scale expansion, and that scenario adaptation, grid-forming technology and AI have become core areas of competition.
The company said it has established three R&D centres and two simulation and testing centres across China and assembled 19 PhD-led cross-disciplinary expert groups, with more than 60% of staff in R&D roles. Its three global manufacturing centres have a first-phase capacity of 10 GWh, and its sales and service network covers more than 30 countries and regions.
The commercial and industrial unit is a 10-foot design that the company says replaces eight cabinets, consolidating the functions of six 260kWh-plus storage cabinets, a combiner cabinet, an on/off-grid cabinet and an isolation transformer. DoGo says it lowers initial capital spending by 1.2 US cents per Wh, cuts land use by 35% and shortens project delivery by five to seven days, supports connections for solar, diesel generators, charging facilities and the grid, and switches between grid-connected and off-grid operation in under 20 milliseconds. The utility-scale unit weighs less than 22 tons, which the company says doubles the number of passable transport routes compared with conventional 20-foot products and lowers sea and land logistics costs; it uses a cable-free design with pre-commissioning completed in the factory, and a dynamic C-rate architecture that lets customers start with a two-hour duration and add DC expansion cabinets later.
The company describes a three-layer control architecture: a bottom layer for grid-forming control covering millisecond-level stability needs such as inertial response, a middle layer handling hundred-millisecond functions including secondary frequency and voltage regulation and fast black start, and a top layer for prediction and optimization. On the generation side, the company says this supports a 4:1 solar-to-storage ratio and doubles PV installation without an upgrade at the point of common coupling; on the grid side it operates in weak grids and improves power supply reliability by 0.03%; on the load side it supports two-way interaction between source and load.
DoGo also released an Eco-series AI toolkit. EcoSizing completes GW-level station capacity simulation within five minutes using 8,760-hour full-year hourly simulation and load classification, the company said, while EcoPreco holds state-of-charge error within 2% and lifts revenue by 15% through peak-valley arbitrage and demand-charge reduction, with AI thermal management adding more than 3% to battery health in the tenth operating year. A separate agent, Dr. Go, provides round-the-clock natural-language expert services covering capacity planning, energy dispatching, operations and maintenance diagnostics and power trading.
