Peak3, which provides digital and AI-driven insurance software, said it is bringing out Graphene v4, described as an AI-native version of its insurance core platform, along with Graphene Harness, an AI-driven delivery lifecycle for building, testing, migrating and maintaining insurance systems.
Graphene v4 includes the Graphene Agent Platform, which the company said is model-agnostic and lets users build, run, observe and govern AI agents. A marketplace supplies pre-built agents for tasks such as medical underwriting, conversational first notice of loss, intelligent document processing and fraud detection in claims. The company said the agents can also configure insurance products, calculations and rules from unstructured documents and natural-language prompts, grounded in the insurer's own knowledge and data, completing in minutes to hours work that traditionally takes days.
The company said Graphene v4 is open and headless by architecture, with every capability exposed to agents through APIs, MCP and CLI so an agent acts on the core directly rather than through a user interface. Access management, strict attribution and detailed logging of every agent interaction are enforced at code level rather than through prompt-level guardrails, it said. Graphene v4 can also be deployed standalone as a middle layer between AI agents and an insurer's existing systems of record, and it widens functional coverage across life, P&C and health, including the group health lifecycle and provider network management, commercial lines with co-insurance and reinsurance administered in the core, indexed universal life and crypto-denominated policies, and native Takaful support.
Graphene Harness is built on a virtual scrum team model. Peak3 said it distilled the working knowledge of its most experienced staff into digital twins of delivery roles including business analyst, architect, engineer, tester and reviewer, and connected every stage of the lifecycle into one governed system, with agent teams running on an AI engineering platform and linked to AI-driven testing, migration, diagnostics and CI/CD. The company said it builds and maintains Graphene on Graphene Harness today, is making the system available to selected implementation partners who deploy Graphene, and intends to offer it to clients over the next six to 12 months. It is also expanding its forward deployed engineering teams.
Bill Song, chief executive of Peak3, said the company was disrupting itself and moving from selling software and related services to providing the production line that builds it. Peak3 said that where Graphene Harness is applied it is already achieving a 50% reduction in end-to-end new-feature development and core system implementation cost, with timelines reduced accordingly, and that its stated ambition is 80% within 18 to 36 months. It said an insurer using Graphene Harness owns the means of changing its core system rather than depending on a vendor's delivery organisation.
