ONLYOFFICE 10.0 brings AI tools, modular apps and security fixes

ONLYOFFICE has released version 10.0 of its open-source office software, an autumn update that puts context-aware AI inside its document, spreadsheet, presentation and PDF editors and adds four free modular apps. The release covers the online, desktop and mobile editors and includes around 50 new features and more than 1,000 fixes, the company said.

An AI tab with a built-in chat lets teams draft, summarize, translate, clean and format without leaving the file or copying content into another tool, according to the release. ONLYOFFICE said legal teams can summarize contracts, analysts can generate forecasts or Pivot Tables and managers can turn ideas into structured presentations. Ready-made prompts, custom AI actions, assistants and saved prompts are included. Organizations choose models on quality, speed and cost: cloud users can enable ONLYOFFICE AI through OpenRouter, while server deployments can connect any model, including local ones, so that sensitive data stays within their own infrastructure.

The four Apps extend ONLYOFFICE Docs, which the company said is released under AGPL v3. AI Agents automates the workspace with intelligent search, a personalized knowledge base and extended reasoning, powered by MCP servers. Forms handles data collection and the analysis of responses, Files centralizes document storage with access controls, and Rooms supports collaboration including Virtual Data Rooms for confidential content. In the cloud the Apps are on by default, while on servers a single command installs them.

The PDF Editor adds metadata removal, customizable annotations, automatic table recognition and reusable signatures. In the Document Editor, co-authors can follow each other's cursor in real time, a new "Keep with next" option keeps related content together, and RTL support is described as more reliable. Spreadsheets run faster with optimized functions, formula hints and an animated copy marquee, and presentations gain new view modes, extended print settings and GIF or video export for slides. Users can work with .ofd files, save spreadsheets as .xls, convert SVGs to editable shapes and add Data Tables to charts, and the redesigned Plugin Manager brings new plugins including Antidote, Curly and Salesforce. The release fixes 35 vulnerabilities.

The Desktop Editors get a refreshed homepage, redesigned Templates and Clouds sections, Odoo integration and visual improvements on Linux, with AI tools available as an optional add-on in Desktop Community. The free iOS and Android apps add an AI assistant with new providers including Grok and DeepSeek, AI AutoFill for forms and voice input. ONLYOFFICE describes itself as an open-source office software project with more than 21 million users worldwide.
