Patent allowance
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued a notice of allowance for an IC-Corp application titled Individually Centric Device, System and Method for Authenticating Device User Identity, the company said. The application is numbered 18/328,438, and examination is complete with the claims found patentable. IC-Corp also said it filed twelve further provisional patent applications in October 2026.
Where verification happens
According to the company, the method verifies a user on that individual's own device instead of in a central database, and learns the individual rather than checking them against records of other people. IC-Corp says nothing is uploaded and that no name, address or personal file is stored. It describes the question it asks as whether the entity present is the one expected, and whether that remains true, rather than whether a face or voice matches.
The fraud it cites
The company cites an account it attributes to Hong Kong police: in January 2024 a finance employee at engineering firm Arup's Hong Kong office joined a video call with people he took to be his chief financial officer and colleagues, and then made 15 transfers totalling $25.6 million to fraudsters. Everyone on that call was a deepfake, according to the account.
Webinar and pilot timeline
IC-Corp will hold a free virtual presentation, The Door Back to Real, on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Pacific, comprising an hour of presentation and 30 minutes of questions. Registration is open for the session. Co-founder Juval Löwy is leading hiring of the development team that will finish product design and begin pilot testing in the first quarter of 2027, the company said.
