NIDS confirms CES 2027 participation, seeks overseas B2B supply

The CES 2027 plan

NIDS Co., Ltd., an environmental sensor manufacturer based in Seoul, has confirmed it will take part in CES 2027 and is moving to widen its business-to-business supply chain. The company plans to use the show to firm up discussions on sensor module supply with global home appliance makers, HVAC specialists and robotics companies, the company said. It described CES as the next stage after its appearance at SEDEX 2026 at COEX in Seoul, where it exhibited in the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association's Sensor Pavilion and introduced new sensor modules.

The product lineup

NIDS makes particulate matter sensors that measure PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10, along with optical gas sensors built on non-dispersive infrared technology that target carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and other gases. Its range also includes composite environmental sensors and electronic nose modules used to detect everyday odors, gas leaks and fires. The company said it designs the core components for air quality measurement in-house and has a system to mass-produce 5 million units a year. At the exhibition it also plans to present its sensor lineup and a newly developed ultra-compact MEMS sensor technology, with examples of use in air quality management systems.

Supply record and overseas bases

Founded in 2000, NIDS said it has supplied more than 10 million sensors cumulatively to domestic and international companies, including Dyson, Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor. The company has overseas bases in the United States, Japan and China, which it plans to use alongside its CES participation to widen contact with buyers and look for new supply opportunities.

Where development is heading

The company said it is concentrating on next-generation composite sensor modules for markets including robotics, industrial safety and odor detection, and will continue developing and supplying modules on a B2B basis that handle several types of environmental data. NIDS said that because it owns its precision sensors it can control sensitivity and tune algorithms to suit the systems they are used in, adding that it plans to extend its business from components to air quality, odor and industrial safety management.
