Dates and venue

ICP DAS-BMP, a Taiwan-based manufacturer and supplier of medical-grade thermoplastic polyurethane, will exhibit at COMPAMED 2026 at Messe Düsseldorf in Germany from November 16 to 19, in Hall 8b, Booth C09, the company said. It will present its TPU portfolio and introduce the newly formed Taiwan TPU Alliance.

Two series in the spotlight

The Low-Migration Arothane ARP-B20 TPU complies with ISO 10993 and is suitable for implantation of up to 90 days. The company said its formulation limits the migration of additives to the surface of medical devices, which is intended to help maintain stability over the long term.

The Low-Friction Series has an inherently smooth surface and requires no coatings or post-processing. It is made entirely of TPU, contains no PFAS or plasticizers, and is described by the company as supporting improved comfort and control when invasive catheters are handled with guidewires.

Other grades on show

The company will also present its ARP, ALP and ALC series for devices with Limited, Prolonged and Long-term contact durations under ISO 10993-1. For radiopaque applications, the ARP/ALP/ALC-B20/B40 series contains 20–40% barium sulfate and the ARP-W/WG series contains 40–60% tungsten, both intended to improve visibility in invasive or implantable devices. The Engineering Arothane EARP series is offered for orthodontic and precision components, with clarity and mechanical strength.

Alliance members

The Taiwan TPU Alliance was initiated by Towards Buddha Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of TPU tubing. Its partners include INTYPE ENTERPRISE CO., LTD., which makes extrusion machinery; Chi Feng Co., Ltd., which makes injection molding components; A-MAX TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., a supplier of auxiliary equipment for the rubber and plastics industry; and ANEST IWATA SPARMAX Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of air compressors and vacuum pumps. According to the company, the group connects expertise across the TPU and medical device manufacturing chain, from materials and tubing to injection molding, extrusion machinery, auxiliary equipment and air and vacuum systems.
