Partners in the spotlight

Hon Hai Technology Group, which trades as Foxconn, held its seventh Hon Hai Tech Day, the company said, giving its partners a spotlight for the first time through a customer zone of photographs and technology milestone timelines. On stage, NVIDIA, Google and Schneider Electric discussed AI infrastructure, while Honda R&D and Mitsubishi Electric Mobility discussed next-generation electromobility. Chairman Young Liu said the group was transforming into a technology manufacturing platform service provider, citing vertical integration and precision manufacturing across smart consumer electronics, AI and EVs as well as space and robotics.

Record 321 exhibits

The company said the event carried 321 exhibits, a record, a quarter of them in a Token Factory zone. A 20-meter wall showed PCBs mounted with tens of thousands of micron-level precision-engineered components, alongside an AI server compute tray design that uses no cables, hoses or fans, co-packaged optics, and power, cooling and high-speed data systems built for AI infrastructure.

Vera Rubin and DSX POD

Foxconn showed its work on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform, from rack-level integration of full AI supercomputing systems down to sub-micron component manufacturing, and displayed the NVIDIA DSX POD for the first time. The DSX POD is a standardized, factory-built reference design that lets partners pre-integrate Vera Rubin rack-scale AI infrastructure in modular containers, complete validation before shipment and connect the units to prepared site infrastructure after delivery. Visionbay.ai, Foxconn's unit for AI supercomputing and cloud operations and an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, is planning its facility design to follow NVIDIA DSX MaxLPS principles so as to maximize performance per watt within a fixed power envelope and optimize computing, power and cooling configurations before construction, the company said.

Dates and venue

HHTD26 runs from October 30 to 31 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, on floors 1 and 4. The event also introduced a family-friendly pavilion where children can try hands-on themes covering sustainability, mobility, smart factory and smart city.
