KLC highlights TTV thermal testing for AI and HPC chips

The Taichung heater maker says its thermal test vehicles simulate heat loads for chip-wafer layout and liquid-cooling work, alongside EV coolant heaters rated up to 12,000 W.

KLC highlights TTV thermal testing for AI and HPC chips

KLC Corporation, registered as Taiwan King Lung Chin PTC Co., Ltd., is highlighting two lines of business: thermal test vehicles for chip-wafer layout design, planning and verification, and high-voltage coolant heaters for electric vehicles. The Taichung-based company designs and manufactures PTC heaters, flexible heaters and thermal test vehicles for automotive, industrial and semiconductor customers.

What the test vehicle does

The thermal test vehicle systems supply controllable heat sources that simulate thermal loads in high-power electronic devices and advanced semiconductor architectures, the company said. It said the systems are meant to let engineers verify chip-wafer layout and architecture early in development and to measure how well cold plates and liquid cooling systems perform. The company named AI servers, GPU platforms, advanced packaging and semiconductor wafer devices as applications.

Heater ratings for EVs

The high-voltage coolant heaters are intended for battery preheating and cabin heating. Depending on the series, KLC offers voltage ratings from 12 to 400 VDC and power outputs of up to 12,000 W.

What the chief executive said

Joanna Wu, KLC's chief executive, said thermal management is essential to next-generation semiconductor and automotive systems, and that the company pairs thermal testing capabilities with heating technology for customers developing demanding applications.
