Dataweavers, the enterprise platform operations company behind Arc, and Sitecore said they are extending Arc's sovereign cloud hosting model for SitecoreAI into additional regulated markets, naming China, the Middle East and Canada. The option is intended to let global enterprises host in-country so they can work toward local data residency requirements while delivering SitecoreAI-powered experiences, without rebuilding their existing platform investment, the company said.
Arc runs inside the customer's own Azure tenant on region-specific infrastructure, with self-service Next.js hosting, built-in governance and enterprise-grade security covered by a single Arc service level agreement, according to the companies. For markets with the strictest requirements, such as China, Arc is designed to support in-country hosting of the front-end compute, the data layer and the delivery layer, subject to applicable local requirements. Availability of particular SitecoreAI capabilities, including AI-powered features that rely on third-party services, may differ by market, the companies said.
Darren Paterson, Sitecore's president for Asia Pacific and Japan, said enterprise organizations are working through a data residency and compliance map that is becoming more complex. He said Dataweavers had built a hosting model that helps customers extend SitecoreAI-powered experiences into new regulated markets while addressing local data residency requirements.
Owen Brandt, chief revenue officer of Dataweavers, said data residency is a trend the company sees across markets and that infrastructure has to stay closer to home, wherever that is. Organizations need a platform strategy that travels with them rather than one they rebuild each time they enter a new region, he said.
The announcement follows Arc's commercial availability directly through Sitecore and Dataweavers' recent expansion into the EMEA market, building on the companies' existing strategic alliance. Organizations assessing a SitecoreAI deployment in a regulated market can approach Sitecore or Dataweavers directly.
