Cyient forms Intelligent Engineering Solutions unit anchored on CYiNGINE

The Hyderabad-based company says the integrated unit will combine data, domain knowledge and business context across lifecycle engineering under a platform-led AI operating model.

Cyient Limited has formed a new integrated business unit, Intelligent Engineering Solutions (IES), which it says is intended to accelerate technology-led growth. The company, which describes itself as a global lifecycle engineering services company, said in the release announcing the unit that IES brings together data, deep domain knowledge and business context across lifecycle engineering through a platform-led AI operating model anchored on CYiNGINE, its lifecycle engineering intelligence platform.

The unit will deliver work across the lifecycle, from planning and design through to operations, and will also manage customers' AI stacks. Three reusable, AI-enabled playbooks cover the engineering, service, and quality and regulatory lifecycles, supported by data engineering, analytics and AI-enabled software development. CYiNGINE provides a common platform, data foundation and outcome measurement framework, according to the company.

Cyient said the engineering lifecycle work is expected to bring faster design and change cycles, improved first-time-right rates and greater reuse of engineering intellectual property. For the service lifecycle it lists higher asset availability and fewer unplanned outages through AI-assisted diagnostics, predictive maintenance and automated service knowledge. For quality and regulatory work it lists faster certification and compliance with continuous, audit-ready traceability, reducing rework and regulatory risk. The company said the outcomes are measured against client KPIs and are meant to support long-term, outcome-based engagements, with the unit moving through stages it names Explore, Build, Scale and Deliver Impact.

IES will be led by Harjott Atrii, chief business officer, who Cyient said has helped shape its data, AI and technology capabilities over recent months. Executive director and chief executive Sukamal Banerjee said the company is not pursuing AI for its own sake but seeking tangible business outcomes for customers, and that the unit reflects a commitment to investing in research and development, partnerships and talent. Atrii said customers buy outcomes rather than AI, and that CYiNGINE brings data, domain knowledge and the AI stack into a single execution layer for measurable results.

Cyient states that it has more than 300 customers and more than 15,000 associates across more than 30 countries, serving industries including aerospace and rail, automotive and mobility, connectivity, energy, healthcare, mining and utilities.
