Clivet debuts magnetic levitation cooling at AI Infra Summit 2026

Clivet gave its next-generation magnetic levitation technology a global debut at AI Infra Summit 2026 in Santa Clara, California, presenting it under the theme DUO POWER BOOST. The company also displayed cooling sources, liquid cooling distribution and supporting products for data centers, and a power-and-cooling coordination solution developed jointly with CLOU, the company said.

Clivet said that rising AI computing densities are increasing the strain on data center cooling, and it identified high-temperature performance degradation, an energy efficiency bottleneck and reliability risks as the main challenges. General-purpose cooling technologies can no longer serve the specific requirements of data centers, which the company said is fueling demand for thermal management built for AIDC environments.

At the center of the portfolio is a next-generation magnetic levitation compressor based on the DUO POWER BOOST dual-rotor variable-speed architecture. In a two-stage compression structure, two rotors and their impellers can change speed independently according to operating conditions, adapting to varying flow rates and pressure ratios. Clivet said the design brings data center load variations, water temperature conditions and system operating strategies into cooling source design.

The products shown cover magnetic levitation cooling sources, magnetic CDUs, high-capacity CDUs, fan walls and terminal units. An air-cooled magnetic levitation chiller handles facility-side cooling, while a magnetic CDU combines a cooling source with liquid cooling distribution. A high-capacity CDU displayed at the event manages secondary-side heat exchange and distribution, with capacity reaching up to 3 MW at a 3K approach temperature difference or 5 MW at 5K. Predictive temperature control holds fluctuations within ±0.5°C, and key components can be replaced online. Combinations can be configured to a project's climate conditions, rack density and supply requirements.

Clivet and CLOU also jointly demonstrated a power-and-cooling coordination solution for AI workloads, with CLOU supplying energy storage and power delivery and Clivet supplying thermal management for high-density computing. For such projects, power configuration, thermal design, space layout and operation and maintenance planning need to be considered together in the early stages, the company said. The coordinated planning is intended to help customers assess the relationships between infrastructure links from a system perspective and to give a reference for later solution design and engineering delivery.
