BDx Indonesia, a joint venture between the telco Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, the operator Lintasarta and the Singapore-based BDx Data Centers, has opened an AI data centre park in Indonesia. The first phase of the campus, called CGK4, runs on renewable energy and is built around NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform, according to the announcement, which Antara carried.

The word the partners use is sovereign. The argument is straightforward enough: as the volume of data used to train and run AI models rises, where that data sits becomes a policy question, and a country without domestic computing capacity is renting it from somewhere else.

Where the 750 megawatts comes from

BDx puts its total deployment potential across Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and China at 750 megawatts. That figure describes capacity the group believes it can secure — land, power agreements, the right to build — rather than capacity that exists and is earning. In this industry the two are routinely years apart, and the release gives no split between them.

Mayank Srivastava, the chief executive of BDx Data Centers, describes an interconnected mesh of distributed infrastructure ready to support AI at the edge. Vikram Sinha, who runs Indosat, frames the launch as building an ecosystem he calls uniquely Indonesian. Ronnie Vasishta, a senior vice president at NVIDIA, says the partners have laid a foundation. All three are describing intent.

What the announcement does not contain is the capital cost, the capacity actually delivered in the first phase, or a single named tenant. The launch sat alongside Indonesia AI Day, which is a marketing occasion as much as a technical one. A campus opening is not the same thing as a campus let, and the numbers that would settle the difference are the ones a reader cannot yet check.
