vivo announced the global debut of the X Fold6, its latest flagship foldable, the company said. The device is aimed at professionals who are frequently on the move, and the company lists productivity tools, a slim design, extended battery life and enhanced imaging among its features.
The X Fold6 debuts with OriginOS 7 Fold, which the company said is driven by an Origin Smooth Engine that draws on computing, memory, storage and rendering capabilities. Its Multi-Task Workbench includes Origin Workbench, a layout with one main window and four auxiliary windows, and Multi-Split Screen, which can show up to four windows side by side that users can resize. AI Cross-App Drag moves content directly between apps. AI Meeting Assistant includes an AI Recorder for in-person meetings, with speaker transcription and structured summaries, and AI Captions for real-time subtitles during online meetings and video calls. AI File Manager offers Topics, Smart Naming, AI Summary and Column View, and AI Reader Mode reformats PDFs into eBook layouts. The company said vivo Office Kit supports cross-device collaboration, while Desktop Mode turns the device into a desktop-like workspace when connected to a compatible monitor or TV. An AI agent, Jovi, works across smartphones and PCs, can generate content and supports scheduled and recurring tasks. Security Shield covers system applications, cross-device communications and networks.
The device carries a 6,900 mAh BlueVolt Battery with 80W FlashCharge, 40W Wireless FlashCharge and Wireless Reverse Charging. The company said it uses 5th-Gen Silicon Anode Technology and a 3rd-Gen Semi-Solid-State Battery that improves low-temperature and low-voltage discharge performance, down to -20°C. The Prism Black variant measures approximately 4.4mm when unfolded and weighs 228g, while the Horizon Blue variant measures 4.8mm unfolded and weighs 235g.
Imaging is handled by a vivo ZEISS Co-engineered Imaging System. The 200 MP ZEISS Main Camera uses a Samsung HPB Large Sensor jointly defined by vivo and Samsung, with ZEISS T* Coating and optical image stabilization. A ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera uses an upgraded Sony LYTIA 602 Large Sensor with vivo's VCS technology, a 3x periscope design and up to 100x ZEISS HyperZoom. The vivo Imaging Chip V3+ handles image processing. Shooting modes include Motion Portrait 2.0 for subjects in motion, Night Flash Portrait and a stage mode for concerts and live performances, and the phone supports 4K 60 fps Dolby Vision video. Split-Screen Preview includes a Cover Screen Teleprompter, an interactive cover screen that shows animations during capture, and a Left-Screen Preview that lets users review images alongside the live camera interface.
The X Fold6 runs on a Dimensity 9500 Super Edition platform co-developed by vivo and MediaTek for the device. It has an 8.02-inch inner display using Samsung's M14 luminescent material and a 6.51-inch cover display using BOE's Q11 material, both with 8T-LTPO backplanes, a 1-120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits local peak brightness. The company lists IPX8 and IPX9 water resistance and IP5X dust resistance. A 1+4 Communication Chipset adapts to complex environments, and Data Store lets users in select markets purchase local data plans on the device for travel across 129 countries and regions, the company said.
