UltraSense Systems and Partron have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on user-interface technologies for AI wearables and smartphones, the companies said.
The arrangement combines UltraSense's ultrasound-based sensing platform with Partron's work in product engineering, integration and manufacturing. The two companies said they will work to accelerate the implementation of UltraSense's touch-on-metal and solid-state interface technologies across wearable and mobile form factors that are emerging.
Partron will also support global customers with product design integration, manufacturing and deployment as programs move from concept and development toward commercialization and high-volume production.
Mo Maghsoudnia, chief executive of UltraSense Systems, said the Physical AI era will call for better interfaces between people and intelligent devices, and that the collaboration brings together sensing and product execution. Won-Kuen Kim, chief executive of Partron, said the companies see opportunities for new interaction technologies across AI wearables and smartphones and aim to help customers implement differentiated interface technologies and bring scalable products to market faster.
The MOU sets out a framework for joint development, customer implementation and commercialization opportunities worldwide, the companies said.
