What the two companies agreed

transcosmos said it has formed a partnership with Metaverse Creators Inc., a Tokyo-based company led by CEO Kazuo Wakamiya, to distribute VRChat 3D content outside Japan through Geek Jack, transcosmos's cross-border e-commerce platform for entertainment products. Avatars, outfits, hairstyles and accessories planned, produced and sold by Metaverse Creators will be added to the platform gradually, the company said.

Why the partners cite barriers

The release states that interest in 3D content made by Japanese creators is growing among audiences abroad, but that language, payment processing, marketing and sales operations can stand in the way of individual creators who want to sell internationally. The partnership is intended to combine Metaverse Creators's planning and production work and its creator network with Geek Jack's cross-border sales infrastructure.

Support beyond selling

Under the arrangement, the companies said they will promote products to overseas users and present the creative intent behind each work, rather than only listing items for sale. They also pointed to Geek Jack's multilingual customer support and to "Modesapo!", a service the release describes as having a record in addressing unauthorized distribution and reposting of creators' works, as ways to reduce the operational load on creators.

Where the content will appear

Geek Jack began offering digital downloads of Japan-originated VTuber voice content in July 2019 and has sold VRChat avatars and outfits since 2023, according to the release. The platform's site is shop.geekjack.net, and Metaverse Creators's site is metaverse-creators.tokyo. The companies said they will keep adding content and creators to the platform and will use feedback and demand from overseas users to guide future products and promotions.
