Snorkel AI raises $350 million at $3.5 billion valuation

The company said it raised $350 million at a valuation of $3.5 billion, in a round co-led by Insight Partners and S32, with significant participation from existing investor Addition. New investors in the round were March Capital, Blumberg Capital, Allegis Capital, Frontline, Standard and Third Point Ventures. Existing investors Greylock, Lightspeed, GV, Factory, Prosperity7, Walden Catalyst and Wells Fargo also took part.

The money will be used to expand the capacity of Snorkel's agentic data factory, which the company says supplies the data and environments behind advanced AI lab systems. The release describes a shift in the work: the earlier era of AI data involved simple labeling tasks that were a volume problem solved with headcount, while frontier and agentic systems now call for expert agentic tasks, environments and rubrics that take even highly qualified people hours or days to construct. Designing them well is research work, where quality and complexity determine value.

Snorkel launched an expert data-as-a-service offering in September 2025 and works with AI labs and enterprises on the data behind frontier model evaluation and training. It grew out of the Stanford AI Lab, with a founding team that pioneered data-centric AI. The company says that body of work spans more than 250 peer-reviewed papers cited more than 25,000 times.

Alex Ratner, co-founder and chief executive, said the teams pushing the frontier want a research data partner that pioneers the science of data development, and that Snorkel was built to be a frontier lab for agentic data combining human expertise with research and technology. Lonne Jaffe, a managing director at Insight Partners, said the firm was backing the team as it brings its capabilities to longer-running, complex work in areas such as healthcare, law and software engineering. Andy Harrison, chief executive and general partner of S32, said the company's expert-agentic environments create a link between human expertise and AI.

Snorkel said it also plans to accelerate investment in vertical and enterprise AI, extend its core research and technology into new domains and modalities, and deepen its investment in open research, building on programs including its Open Benchmarks Grants initiative.
