PwC US and PwC India said they will form a joint venture that brings PwC India's consulting business together with PwC US Advisory's India-based capabilities into a single platform serving clients in India, the United States and other markets. The firms announced the agreement on Sept. 13.
The combined platform is to span client work from strategy and transformation through technology, engineering and artificial intelligence, and to bring together managed services on a larger scale, the firms said. They said it is expected to support US-headquartered enterprises that have Global Capability Centers in India, to strengthen how PwC serves clients across major global trade flows, and to provide a stronger foundation for innovation as AI continues to change how work is delivered. The firms said the venture also advances PwC's aim of building a more globally integrated consulting model.
Paul Griggs, PwC US senior partner and chief executive, said the combination is about bringing the firm's advisory talent in India and the US into one team, rather than about where work gets done. Sanjeev Krishan, chairperson of PwC India and the incoming chief executive of the joint venture, said PwC has operated in India for more than 150 years and that the venture is a step toward its Vision 2030 goal, giving domestic clients access to global capabilities and giving multinational and Global Capability Center clients more seamless service.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of calendar year 2027, subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Until then, the firms said, PwC US and PwC India will continue to serve clients through their existing structures and ways of working. Financial terms were not disclosed. The joint venture will be owned and governed by PwC US and PwC India.
