JinkoSolar unveils Tiger Neo 5.0 all-black residential module at 25.52% efficiency

JinkoSolar has introduced Tiger Neo 5.0, an all-black 48-cell solar module for residential rooftops rated at 510 W and 25.52% module efficiency, built on its new TAC cell platform.

JinkoSolar adds Tiger Neo 5.0

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. has introduced Tiger Neo 5.0, an all-black solar module for residential rooftops built on a cell platform the company calls TAC. The first version to reach the market is an all-black 48-cell module, which the company said in the announcement is designed for homes and other residences where appearance matters.

The numbers

The module delivers a maximum power output of 510 W and a module efficiency of 25.52%, according to the company. JinkoSolar said TAC combines the carrier transport of TOPCon with the low-temperature processing and positive electrode passivation of HJT, lifting peak cell efficiency to 28%. Together with a zero-gap cell layout and hidden-ribbon technology at module level, the company said, the module reaches its 25.52% figure.

Temperature and comparison

Semiconductor-grade low- and high-temperature processes bring the power temperature coefficient to -0.24% per degree Celsius, which the company said means stronger energy yield in high-temperature environments. Against conventional back-contact modules, JinkoSolar said the product delivers about 30 W more power and a lower temperature coefficient, with a deeper and more uniform black finish.

What the company says

Charlie Cao, chief executive of Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., said the panel was developed for premium residential rooftops and that the launch is intended to move the industry toward modules tailored to specific applications.
