Sixty-four findings in Madrid
Hengrui Pharma will present 64 research findings at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress 2026, which runs in Madrid from October 23 to 27, the company said. The total comprises three Proffered Paper presentations, three Rapid Oral presentations, 32 posters and 26 e-posters. The accepted work covers more than ten cancer areas, the company said, including esophageal, gastric, liver, biliary tract, pancreatic, rectal, breast, lung, cervical, prostate and nasopharyngeal cancers, as well as thymic epithelial tumors and sarcomas.
Two ADCs take the podium
Two independently developed antibody-drug conjugates have been selected for Proffered Paper presentations: the HER2-targeted trastuzumab rezetecan (SHR-A1811) and the HER3-targeted ruzaltatug rezetecan (SHR-A2009). The trastuzumab rezetecan study is HORIZON-Breast06, a randomized phase 3 trial in HER2-low advanced breast cancer led by Binghe Xu of the Cancer Hospital at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The ruzaltatug rezetecan presentation covers interim analyses from HERON-Lung01, a phase 3 trial comparing the ADC with platinum-based chemotherapy in EGFR-mutated advanced non-small-cell lung cancer that has progressed after EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor treatment, led by Yi-Long Wu of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital.
A regulatory filing in China
In July 2026, after positive results from HERON-Lung01, China's National Medical Products Administration accepted for review a marketing application for ruzaltatug rezetecan, intended for adults with EGFR-mutated locally advanced or metastatic non-squamous NSCLC whose disease has progressed following EGFR-TKI therapy, according to the release. A phase 3 trial is under way testing the ADC in combination with an EGFR TKI as a first-line treatment, and the US Food and Drug Administration has granted it Fast Track designation for patients whose disease has progressed after a third-generation EGFR-TKI and platinum-based chemotherapy.
Established drugs and pancreatic cancer
Camrelizumab features in a Proffered Paper on UNION, a phase 3 trial of neoadjuvant short-course radiotherapy followed by camrelizumab and chemotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer. A phase 2 study of the Nectin-4-targeted ADC SHR-A2102 in recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer has been selected for a Rapid Oral session. A combination regimen based on the KRAS G12D inhibitor HRS-4642 will also be presented as a Rapid Oral, covering preliminary phase 2 results of HRS-4642 plus chemotherapy, with or without adebrelimab, as perioperative therapy in KRAS G12D-mutant pancreatic cancer. HRS-4642 with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel holds breakthrough therapy designation from the CDE of the NMPA for first-line treatment of advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer with a KRAS G12D mutation, the release said.
