Presented at ESMO 2026
Bio-Thera Solutions said clinical data for BAT8008, a TROP2-targeted antibody-drug conjugate, used in combination with BAT1308, an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody, were presented at the 2026 European Society for Medical Oncology Congress. Shaodong Hong, a professor at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, delivered a rapid oral presentation on the combination in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. The Guangzhou-based company said further details are available on Bio-Thera's official website.
The response and survival figures
In 104 patients with first-line, mutation-negative NSCLC, the combination produced an objective response rate of 61.2% and a median progression-free survival of 12.42 months, the company said. In the non-squamous subgroup, the response rate was 65.2% and median progression-free survival had not been reached at the time of analysis. The company said the regimen's safety profile was manageable, in line with what is already known about the two agents individually, and that no new safety signals were identified.
What the company says the data support
Chief executive Shengfeng Li said the Phase 2 results were encouraging and supported the combination's potential as a first-line treatment for advanced NSCLC. The company said patients with advanced NSCLC who lack actionable genomic alterations still face significant treatment challenges, and that TROP2-targeted ADCs pair tumor-directed delivery of cytotoxic payloads with the possibility of modulating the tumor microenvironment, which combined with PD-1 blockade may act through complementary mechanisms. According to the company, the findings support further evaluation of BAT8008 with BAT1308 as a possible treatment option for NSCLC patients.
