ASSA ABLOY to sell HID's PKI unit to Vista Equity Partners

The divested business, which includes IdenTrust, HydrantID and ZeroSSL, had 2025 sales of MUSD 58 and is expected to change hands in the fourth quarter.

Who is selling what

ASSA ABLOY said it has signed an agreement to sell HID's PKI business unit to Vista Equity Partners. The unit covers digital trust, identity, authentication, encryption and certificate management, and takes in the PKI SaaS offerings IdenTrust and HydrantID, credential management and ZeroSSL, the company said.

The number that matters

The business being divested recorded sales of MUSD 58, or about MSEK 570, in 2025, according to the release. ASSA ABLOY described its operating margin as strong.

When it takes effect

The sale is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, the company said.

What the company says it is for

Nico Delvaux, ASSA ABLOY's president and chief executive, said he was satisfied that the unit, its employees and customers would gain a committed long-term investor through Vista. Björn Lidefelt, executive vice president and head of HID, said the PKI team had built a strong business with a strong customer base and that Vista had the expertise to take it forward as the market evolves.
