XPENG names Lee Man-sik Korea managing director from December 1

The 30-year automotive veteran joins as the company prepares to enter the South Korean market, with launch timing still unannounced.

Who and when

XPENG said it has appointed Lee Man-sik as Managing Director of XPENG Motors Korea, effective December 1, 2026. The company described him as a 30-year automotive industry veteran with a record in sales and commercial operations.

The South Korea plan

The appointment comes as XPENG prepares to enter the South Korean market, which the company said it plans to do. Launch timing and details of local business operations will be announced later, XPENG said, and its operating plans for the market were not specified.

Lee's background and remit

Lee began his career in engineering and has worked across sales, marketing, product strategy, brand communications, dealer network development and customer service, according to the company. He joined Volvo Cars Korea in 2003, where the company said he played a role in establishing Volvo as a premium import brand in the country. In the new role he will lead XPENG's work to build a business base in South Korea, including sales and service networks, partnerships and brand presence.

The wider numbers

XPENG said it delivered 50,237 vehicles worldwide in October 2026, up 22% from September and 20% from a year earlier, a monthly record. Overseas deliveries reached 13,326 units, up 166% year on year. The company said it operates in 83 countries and regions, with eight R&D centres, six manufacturing bases and more than 1,200 stores.
