VinFast has begun selling the 2027 VF 8 in the United States, the company said, with changes to the vehicle's technology, safety equipment and features. The model, designated MY27, comes in ECO and PLUS trims priced from $40,400 and $45,600.
From September 2026, the car will be on display and available to buy at authorised dealerships in Chicago, Orlando and San Diego, where customers can test drive it. VinFast said it will keep offering purchase incentives for U.S. buyers, including 0% APR financing for up to 84 months and leasing options.
The vehicle's driver-assistance suite gains five systems. Automatic Emergency Stop Assist is designed to decelerate and stop the car in its lane if the driver does not respond, then activate the hazard lights, apply the electronic parking brake, unlock the doors and trigger an eCall. Rear Automatic Emergency Braking applies the brakes while reversing when a collision with an obstacle or pedestrian is imminent. Intersection Assist gives visual and audible warnings when a high collision risk is detected on entering an intersection or turning. Auto Lane Changing Assist provides steering guidance for lane changes, started by a driver request or a system prompt. Evasive Steering Assist supplies steering torque to help avoid a frontal obstacle when braking alone is not enough.
The company also launched an Energy Cost Savings Calculator on its official website, which lets prospective buyers estimate running costs against gasoline-powered vehicles using their own driving habits and local energy rates. VinFast is a subsidiary of Vingroup JSC and trades on Nasdaq under the ticker VFS.
