Who certified what
SINEXCEL, a Shenzhen-based supplier of energy storage, EV charging, power quality and critical power systems for AIDC and listed on the Shenzhen exchange under 300693.SZ, has been certified to IEC 62443-4-1:2018 by TÜV SÜD, the company said. The certificate follows an independent assessment of its Product Cybersecurity Development Process System V1.0.
The eight areas reviewed
TÜV SÜD evaluated the process across eight areas: security management, security requirements specification, secure-by-design principles, secure implementation, security verification and validation testing, management of security-related issues, security update management, and security guidelines for users. The assessment confirmed the system meets the applicable requirements of the standard, which the company described as a structured framework for putting cybersecurity into product development and lifecycle management.
What the company says it is for
Marx Zhao, a cybersecurity expert at SINEXCEL, said the certification was a milestone in the company's secure development work and was meant to help customers handle cybersecurity requirements in different markets. SINEXCEL said the IEC 62443 series gives manufacturers a framework for industrial automation and control system security across a product's life, and that its principles also underpin work toward the EU Cyber Resilience Act, the NIS2 Directive and NERC CIP. The company said it will continue developing secure-by-design practices and its security capabilities.
