Shanghai Electric reported first-half 2026 operating revenue of CNY 63.332 billion (USD 9.17 billion), up 16.6% from a year earlier, the company said. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached CNY 970 million (USD 140.49 million), an increase of 18.2%. New orders for the period totalled CNY 100.39 billion (USD 14.54 billion), it said.
Revenue at the Energy Equipment segment was CNY 36.558 billion (USD 5.29 billion), up 21.4%, which the company attributed to growth in its wind power and energy storage businesses. Industrial Equipment revenue rose 1.9% to CNY 18.954 billion (USD 2.75 billion), and Integrated Services revenue was CNY 10.862 billion (USD 1.57 billion), up 31.5%.
Energy Equipment accounted for CNY 64.24 billion of the new orders, including CNY 12.39 billion for wind power equipment, CNY 11.44 billion for energy storage equipment, CNY 4.57 billion for nuclear power equipment and CNY 20.23 billion for coal-fired power generation equipment. New orders for Industrial Equipment stood at CNY 21.25 billion, and for Integrated Services at CNY 14.91 billion.
Overseas, the company said Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator secured the contract for the Dubai Palm Island Phase II project, supplying 700 elevators and related services. Its power transmission and distribution business won a contract to supply high- and low-voltage switchgear for a hyperscale data centre in Finland, which the company described as its first large-scale entry into Europe's high-end market. It also signed a contract for the Minety Phase II Stonehill Energy Storage Project (50 MW/150 MWh) in the UK. The company said it has established a 1+N+6 international business management network and opened regional headquarters in Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa.
Shanghai Electric said its green power plus biomass gasification to green methanol technology, validated at a project in Taonan, Jilin, led to an EPC contract for the first phase of a 100,000-tonne-per-year biomass green methanol project in Lanzhou New Area, which is under construction. It said it has mastered key nuclear equipment manufacturing and testing technologies and holds offshore wind orders exceeding 2 GW, and that it contributed to the full commissioning of the Huai'an Salt Cavern Compressed Air Energy Storage Project, which it described as the world's largest. The SUYUAN 2.0 humanoid robot made its domestic debut, more than 40 AI agents are deployed across research and development, production and maintenance, and the SEunicloud Industrial Internet Platform has connected about 1.16 million devices and developed more than 60 industry-specific digital solutions, the company said.
