MoonPay, which the release describes as a crypto payments and stablecoin infrastructure company, is pursuing a strategic collaboration with Dunamu in financial infrastructure built on digital assets. MoonPay said in the announcement that it was founded in 2019 and serves more than 35 million customers in 180 countries, along with more than 1,500 enterprise clients.
Payments and treasury
The companies said they will jointly identify business opportunities in stablecoin-based payments and fund transfers, and in corporate finance and treasury management. For payments, they will review cases in which digital assets can be used for cross-border transfers and examine the business potential of new service models. On treasury, they will review how digital asset infrastructure could be applied to corporate finance and treasury operations, and identify related usage models.
The GIWA blockchain
A third area is Dunamu's GIWA blockchain. By linking MoonPay's services and network with Dunamu's blockchain infrastructure, the companies said they aim to increase overseas market access for services and assets in the GIWA ecosystem and to look for new business opportunities in international markets. They plan to firm up the technical and commercial potential of all three areas and to keep identifying opportunities that draw on both companies' strengths.

Bugeon Lee, head of APAC at MoonPay, said stablecoins need technology and networks that support businesses' real financial operations, not only cross-border payments and fund transfers. He said combining Dunamu's blockchain capabilities with MoonPay's infrastructure would let the two explore new possibilities for digital assets and work towards expanding the GIWA ecosystem into international markets.
