Midea and Electrolux say all three North American joint ventures are live

Midea Group and Electrolux Group said all three of their joint ventures in North America are now operating, part of a long-term strategic partnership between the two companies. The companies said the venture is meant to give them a more local and competitive base for product development, more efficient operations and support for long-term growth.

The partnership was announced on 23 April 2026 and builds on more than 20 years of collaboration, according to the companies. It draws on their capabilities in manufacturing, product development, innovation, supply chain and commercial strategy in serving customers and consumers in North America.

Louis Zhao, a vice president of Midea Group and president of its smart home business group, said the start of the ventures is a tangible advance in the companies' long-term plans for North America, and that closer work on product development, operations and go-to-market can turn years of collaboration into opportunities to innovate, raise efficiency and serve buyers better. Yannick Fierling, president and chief executive of Electrolux Group, said the partnership is a significant milestone in carrying out the group's strategy and puts it in a position to speed up profitable growth, and that it allows continued investment in sustainable, consumer-focused innovation for North American customers and consumers.

The two companies said they will keep strengthening local manufacturing and supply capacity to meet changing consumer demand. They plan to reach annual North American production of food preservation and fabric care products at roughly twice current capacity, and to expand into new product categories.
