Launch at EANM 2026
Longevous Beamtech (LBT) introduced the LB-30 series, its 30 MeV medical cyclotron platform, at the 39th Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM 2026) in Vienna. The congress took place at the Austria Center Vienna from October 17 to 21. The platform was shown at a dedicated product launch event during the congress, and the company said it extends LBT's medical cyclotron portfolio into the 30 MeV energy range.
Beam and target flexibility
LBT said the LB-30 supports multiple particle types, continuously variable beam energy extraction, high-efficiency beam transport, clean vacuum technology and flexible target stations. The company said these features give users more flexibility in choosing particle type, beam energy and target configuration for different irradiation needs, and support a broader range of radionuclide production routes and research applications.
Portfolio and production scope
The company said its existing systems handle routine clinical isotope production and multi-isotope work, while the 30 MeV platform extends its capabilities toward higher-energy production, broader isotope development and advanced research. LBT said its portfolio also covers target systems, radiopharmaceutical synthesis and dispensing, hot cells and quality control, plus engineering, installation, training and lifecycle support. It said facilities can be configured around different isotope requirements, production volumes, research objectives and future plans, for hospitals, radiopharmaceutical producers and research institutions.
Congress discussions
At EANM 2026, LBT showed the LB-30 to nuclear medicine professionals, radiopharmaceutical companies, researchers and industry partners from international markets. The company said discussions there covered radionuclide production, radiopharmaceutical development and the changing technical requirements of future production facilities.
