INSIS ties its Natural Ease approach to yarn choice and pattern work

What the brand set out

INSIS, a Chinese womenswear brand founded in 2015, has described an approach to clothing it calls Natural Ease, which it says begins with the experience of wearing a garment. The company said the account accompanied recent coverage, including an ELLE Italia feature on the brand and an interview with Fashion Law Journal, as well as ELLE Italia's report on its part in The Third Shore in Venice. According to the brand, the approach covers how a fabric feels against the skin, how a cut accommodates movement and how a piece fits into different parts of the day.

Merino, yak and alpaca

INSIS said its core team came from the textile industry and that it established a product research and development headquarters in Shanghai in 2019, treating material selection as an early design decision. Its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection includes knitwear in 17.5-micron superfine Australian merino wool, knits of yak fibre and wool, and outerwear combining Suri alpaca with wool. It said softened shoulder lines, eased armholes and seamless knitwear address how clothing rests on the body and moves with it, and that selected pieces are reversible or adjustable.

The Asymmetric Pants

The release presents the Asymmetric Pants, which have off-centre fronts, as an example of the approach, with related designs developed in different fabrics and lengths. The brand said the curved detail of the angled fly front draws on traditional Chinese architecture, becoming a line in the pattern and a change in the garment's proportions. The Asymmetric Wide-leg Pants have an asymmetric wrap front, front pleats and curved side seams in brushed twill, and the wider range includes cotton-linen and wool-blend trousers.

A Venice gathering

In September 2026, INSIS took part as a co-creator of The Third Shore's founding event in Venice, which the release describes as bringing cinema, science, art and craftsmanship together. The brand said it develops selected styles across seasons, revisiting fabrics, construction and fit so that familiar pieces can evolve. It gives its expression as "Clothing, for being, for becoming."
