Phase I of the October 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Shows opened on October 11 at AsiaWorld-Expo and runs to October 14, the company said. The Consumer Electronics Show and the Gaming Show are held concurrently under the theme "Connecting Global Innovation, Enabling Sustainable Sourcing." Between them the two shows cover PC peripherals, gaming peripherals, audio-visual equipment, automotive electronics, personal transporters, photography accessories and batteries and power products, with more than 4,000 booths in total and more than 2,100 suppliers from Asia.
John Kao, vice president of Hong Kong Shows and Overseas Shows at Global Sources, said Hong Kong SAR's first Five-Year Plan calls for consolidating and elevating the city's status as an international trade center and for it to act as a "super connector" and "super value-adder." He said the shows serve as a platform for that policy by bringing together buyers from markets worldwide and helping Chinese mainland brands negotiate directly with them on the show floor, describing a "Made in Chinese Mainland + Served via Hong Kong SAR" route to overseas markets. He also said the plan and the 2026 Policy Address set out the city's direction for the next five years, and that manufacturing capability, compliance capability and trust together determine whether an industry can hold its place in international markets.
The release says 2026 is Hong Kong SAR's year of esports blockbusters. The LCK Cup finals made their debut at Kai Tak Arena in February, the Hong Kong SAR team won two bronze medals in esports at the Nagoya Asian Games last month, and the BLAST tournament returns to AsiaWorld-Expo in November. The Greater Bay Area accounts for more than half of the world's keyboard and mouse OEM output and more than 70% of global game controller shipments, and Hong Kong SAR acts as the procurement and cross-border trade gateway between those manufacturers and overseas buyers, according to the release. The show floor carries more than 1,600 PC accessory booths and nearly 500 gaming peripheral booths, with brands including Loctek, CE-LINK, RXGAMER, Brateck, Havit, AULA, MCHOSE, ATK, TITAN and Huntkey. Nearly 1,900 further booths cover audio-visual equipment, automotive electronics, personal transporters, photography accessories and batteries and power products.
On compliance, the release says the EU's Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542) requires that from February 18, 2027 certain battery products carry a Digital Product Passport disclosing roughly 90 data points, including carbon footprint, recycled content and supply chain traceability, with Digital Product Passport requirements for electronics following in phases under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation. The Phase I power supply and charging accessories zone features fast-charging, wireless charging and energy storage products from suppliers that have already put compliance frameworks in place.
Phase I also hosts the Best of Innovation Awards, judged by a panel drawn from industry associations, technology media, standards bodies, senior buyers and a Global Sources jury, and recognises 20 award-winning exhibitors with a focus on consumer electronics. A VR immersive experience zone is presented with VR Star Space, offering titles including Star Racing and Star Cyclone, while MCHOSE hosts a Gaming and eSport Arena. The Global Sources Summit runs alongside the exhibition with participants including VTC, Hong Kong Science Park, Tencent, Airoma AI and SGS.
