What Getac launched
Getac Technology Corporation announced the B360X and B360X Pro, two fully rugged notebooks that extend the company's B360 series, the company said. Both models add processing power, a larger 14-inch screen, more security features and expanded connectivity over the earlier series, in the same compact form factor. Getac names public safety, utilities, manufacturing and defence as the industries the machines are built for.
The number that matters
The notebooks run Intel Core Ultra 5, 7 or X7 Series 3 processors with Intel Graphics and Intel AI Boost. Getac said units fitted with the Core Ultra X7 reach up to 180 TOPS of total compute performance, and that the X7 is offered only on the B360X model. The company positions the on-device processing as a way for field staff to run data-intensive and AI-enhanced applications where a connection to cloud models is not available.
Display, radios and security
Both carry a 14-inch WUXGA LumiBond display rated at 1,400 nits, which Getac says can be operated with gloves on or in rain. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 are standard, while GPS with L1/L5, 4G LTE and 5G Sub-6 and SA are optional. Buyers can choose their I/O port configuration, including up to two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, and the dual battery is hot-swappable. Standard security items listed include a Windows Hello camera on a 5MP front camera, TPM 2.0, a smart card reader, a user-replaceable PCIe NVMe SSD and Getac Disk Wipe; a second SSD bringing total storage to 4TB, an HF RFID reader and a fingerprint reader are optional. Getac cites MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G and IP66 certifications and drop resistance to 1.8m while in use, with salt fog certification available as an option.
What the Pro adds, and when
The B360X Pro ships with dual high-capacity batteries as standard, and offers an optional NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 Blackwell discrete graphics controller plus an optional media bay that can hold a third battery or a DVD drive. Both models are due to be available in November 2026.
