Who signed
Van Lang Investment and Education Management Group Corporation has selected D2L Brightspace as the foundation for the next phase of learning delivery across its institutions, D2L said. The provider described the group as its first strategic customer in Vietnam to adopt the platform. The agreement runs for five years, according to the announcement.
The group's ecosystem takes in Van Lang University, Van Lang Global School, Phuong Dong University, Binh Duong Economics and Technology University, Van Lang Saigon College and US Vietnam Talent International School.
When it starts
After a pilot, the group plans to launch the platform across its campus-based and online learning environments in September 2027. The company said the agreement covers learning on campus, online and across lifelong learning within the Van Lang ecosystem.
What is being deployed
Alongside the core platform, the group plans to use D2L Lumi, including Lumi Chat and Lumi Tutor, which D2L says is built in line with its responsible AI principles. Also listed are D2L Performance+, an analytics dashboard giving instructors insight into learner engagement, success and retention, and H5P, a content creation tool with more than 50 interactive content types that integrates within courses.
What the two sides said
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, president of Van Lang University, said the partnership is not simply an investment in technology but an investment in how people learn, and that the group aims to build a more personalized, engaging and flexible learning environment for current students and future lifelong learners.
John Baker, D2L's president and chief executive, said Van Lang Education Group is the company's first strategic client in Vietnam and that the two will work closely to expand opportunities for its students in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia.
