Binance said eligible overseas Binance Pay users visiting Japan can now make payments at PayPay-supported merchants nationwide through HIVEX, with the arrangement in place from Sept. 30, 2026, according to the company.
The company said the interoperability covers about 48 million eligible Binance Pay users across more than 100 countries and regions, and reaches millions of merchant locations in Japan. PayPay-supported merchants will continue to receive settlement in Japanese yen, Binance said.
Binance said the service is intended for travelers and covers spending on dining, shopping, accommodation and other travel-related purchases. Thomas Gregory, Binance's vice president of payments and fiat, said Japan is shaping the future of connected, cashless payments and that the integration reflects a shared aim between the two sides.
The company said the launch expands Binance Pay's presence in one of the region's cashless payment markets and builds on its QR payment rollouts across major travel corridors in Asia.
