The funding will support increased capacity to detect and respond to health crises.
The World Bank has approved US$250 million in financing to strengthen Türkiye’s preparedness for public health emergencies.
“Turkey’s Public Health Emergency Preparedness Plan”: will focus on improving the ability to detect and respond to health crises, including funding for equipment and technical assistance to support vaccine production.
In addition, strengthening emergency response capabilities is expected to curb the spread of infectious diseases and mitigate broader health risks.
“Given the country’s vulnerability to infectious disease, climate change and natural disaster risks, emergency preparedness will cover multiple sources of public health risks,” the bank said.
