Health expenditure growth in developed markets is expected to remain at a high level in 2025, with most economies expected to grow by 4-6%, slightly higher than the historical trend before the epidemic.
Key drivers behind this growth include investments in healthcare infrastructure, digital healthcare technology and rising salaries for healthcare professionals, according to the BMI report.
“The focus on addressing wait times and preparing for the next pandemic is reduced compared with 2024, but remains,” the report said.
Despite widespread government cost-containment measures, the outlook for healthcare providers, including pharmaceutical and medical device companies, remains rosy.
