“As for the provision that allows the prime minister to order the temporary suspension of duties to prevent a coup if an officer exceeds his constitutional duties, this is not a flaw in the bill, but the use of power to prevent a coup.” Coup, similar to what South Korean lawmakers have done [recently] Use their power to prevent the president from declaring martial law. Many countries have strict measures in place to prevent power seizures.

Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul argued that a lack of corruption in politics could prevent coups, to which Prayuth responded that the purpose was to involve political parties in preventing coups. However, if parties disagree, they must reconsider.

He added that while some people believe that the draft law may not be effective in preventing coups, he personally believes that it can help prevent coups to a certain extent.

Regarding advancing the proposal, Prayuth emphasized that he is not afraid of conflict with the military, but must respect public opinion. If society does not support the bill, it must be reconsidered
