Kuala Lumpur – “Listen carefully, Feder,” said Baron Harkonnen. “Stick to the plan within the plan.”

in frank herbert’s duneThe Baron recounts the interlocking plans of a grander plan to his mentally ill nephew and heir, Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.

My current escape from Malaysia’s never-ending politics is to watch Dune: Prophecy. This is a science fiction television series focusing on the Bene Gesserit (an all-female secret society with superhuman strength and abilities), Shai-Hulud (who swim in seas of sand and produce popular spices) giant sandworms) and interstellar politics.

But politics is dune Similar and equally interesting to Malaysia’s, there are plans within plans.

I knew nothing about the alleged plan when a businessman called me on Wednesday afternoon to claim he was not the whistleblower who secretly filmed and edited the Sabah state assemblyman’s video. He said he had some advice regarding the drama facing the political elite in my state of Sabah. dune Movie.

I call the Sabah political drama “Lankan English Pool”. In pool, the breakout shot sets the tone for the entire game. Some amateurs hit the cue ball too hard, hoping it will pocket. Pushing too hard can have unintended consequences. Players have no control over which ball is pocketed – the cue ball, the black ball, the solid blue ball or the striped red ball.

Lankan English Pool This drama is not about exposing corruption, but using it as an excuse to overthrow Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Haji Jinur.

The businessman asked me to send him a letter of undertaking not to reveal his identity, claiming he had evidence that Sabah Star chairman and deputy chief minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Keatingan was involved in the planned scheme.

The next day, after I asked the businessman to provide evidence of the accusation, he called.

“You saw the video that is now going viral. In it, a Whatsapp message was received from Jeffrey talking about the CM post,” he said.

“But these are just screenshots of WhatsApp messages. We don’t know if they are real,” I said.

He agreed.

On Friday, Dr Jeffrey issued a statement saying he was aware of a video circulating on social media accusing him of conspiring against the chief minister.

“Such a conspiracy does not exist and has never existed.” He added that Sabah Star expressed its full support for Hajiji to become chief minister in 2020 and since then, despite various challenges, their The support didn’t waver either.

The Keningau MP and Tambunan MP said the allegation was absolutely false, misleading and politically motivated. He said the move was aimed at dividing the Sabah People’s Alliance, the backbone of the Sabah government, from Sabahans contesting the state elections.

“The screenshots cited are purportedly from November 1, 2024, and contain snippets of conversations taken completely out of context to falsely support this allegation. Furthermore, these allegations appear to be consistent with recent baseless accusations against the Sabah State Government. In the meantime, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is currently investigating the allegations and I believe the authorities will reveal the truth in due course.

Back to my chat with the businessman on Thursday. Out of curiosity, I asked him what the alleged plan was for Dr. Jeffrey to become the Chief Minister.

“Jeffrey is DCM. If Hajiji gets into trouble, he will automatically become CM Mah,” he said.

“But, like I said, maybe the GRS will not allow this because the PGRS has the largest number of MPs,” I said, referring to Hajiji’s Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah which has 26 MPs.

“PGRS probably won’t give it to Dr. Jeffrey. GRS can dissolve (dissolve) the assembly,” I said.

“But if it’s Bubar, who loses?” he said. “PBS and Star can stand shoulder to shoulder with Warisan.”

PBS has seven MPs and Sabah Star has six MPs joining PGRS in a coalition with Sabah political parties. Warisan and Umno are the opposition parties in Sabah.

“Fair enough,” I said.

“Star and PBS can go to Warisan any day. Who is the loser? I mean, who is the biggest loser? It’s PGRS,” the businessman said.

My GRS sources tell me that whistleblowers are harassing GRS YBs (MPs) to convince/threaten them to overthrow Hajiji. So far, the planned plan has not been successful. Like the failed Kinabalu Lanka in January 2023, GRS YB did not fall into the divide and conquer game that Kuala Lumpur usually plays. YB is Bersatu and Sabahans, not Kuala Lumpur, will decide their future.

I spoke to the businessman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, on Friday and told him that the alleged Dr. Jeffrey WhatsApp farce had collapsed after the maverick politician denied it.

“After this, the opposition will definitely ask him (Dr Jeffrey) to report to the police,” he said.

Sure enough, a few hours later, Sabah Umno issued a statement asking the Sabah Star chairman to report to the police regarding the WhatsApp message “War is about to begin”.

“The whistleblower told me that Jeffrey and V (Sabah assemblyman) have actually met. Jeffrey will be DCM I (Deputy Chief Minister I) and Finance Minister and V will be CM,” he said.

The businessman’s allegation confirms my suspicion that any offer to a GRS MP to become chief minister is a trap. This offer induced politicians to abandon the state government, resulting in V being appointed chief minister.

political conspiracy dune and Lankan English Pool Including “feint within a feint”, “trick within a trick” and “treachery within a trick”.

I can’t wait for this Monday Dune: Prophecy Season 1 Episode 5.

Those who follow Sabah politics should listen carefully and follow what is planned.
